End Stage UI & Leaderboards
The end stage screen has a couple main widget systems that I developed in it. The first one you see is the fitness calculator and the second one is the leader boards for the stage the player just finished. The leader board stores the player’s time and username using braincloud which was the third party database service we used during the project. The fitness tracker gave an approximation of the amount of calories the player burned during the stage. It also displayed some gameplay stats such as climbing actions, dodges, arrows shot, and deaths.
This main graph used quite a lot of repeating elements that if I was to go back and redo I’d create a re-usable widget for the backgrounds, buttons, etc. I was also using canvas panels here where an overlay would have been more performant. The overall design of the widget was effective in showing the information in a condensed form for the user and not too blocky. The information was passed down to the widget from the game instance which incremented the corresponding stat every time the player did something.
